Plein Air
We will study both on-site and from a photograph of a scenic landscape and learn how to simplify the complex elements that make up the scene into a solid composition. Further, we will introduce a few watercolor techniques and explore oil painting by utilizing tools such as brushes, palette knives, and Catalyst wedges to highlight value, color, light patterns, edges, and perspective to create our interpretation of the landscape. Classes will include a combination of demonstration, discussion, and art appreciation. We will meet on-site in different locations each week. Instructor: Stephanie Chang
